Hawaii Volcano: Kilauea May REACTIVATE – Lava Pond Inside Fissure 8 Forms

Activity at Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has reduced, but residents are urged to heed warnings from authorities as two lava pond were observed during an flight over the region, with the US Geological Survey warning activity can re-occur “at any time.”

A lava pond has formed inside fissure 8 as the residents of Hawaii’s Big Island continue to cope with the daily re-occurrence of Kilauea’s ongoing eruption.

Eruptive activity has lulled, the US Geological Survey said, however this does not mean activity has ceased completely as scientists warn activity could “reactivate” at a moment’s notice.
