We took an entire day to tour the island and eat our favorite food on Oahu. In Hawaii, you will find food for everyone’s pallet! We started out at Helena’s Hawaiian Food in Honolulu where we sampled tripe stew, laulau, and the best ribs on the island. From there, we devoured poke, kulolo ice cream and much more! We even stopped at the grocery store to pick up a delicacy you can only find in certain places. Enjoy the food tour and let us know what you will be eating the next time you are in Hawaii.

Food is the one of the most important parts of our vacations. So we love to share with you our favorite restaurants where we live in Hawaii. While you may be vacationing in Honolulu, Waikiki, or Ko’olina, we can guide you to the tastiest places to visit on island.

DB Grill is a quick 10 minute ride from Disney Aulani, Marriott or any airbnb in the Ko’olina area of Oahu. They offer so many dishes with a local flair combining some familiar favorites with Korean fusion.

This visit to DB Grill allowed us to sample some new menu items including the BBGP(Brown Butter Garlic Parmigiano) Wings and the amazing Short Rib that Fred Flintstone himself would like to eat. Their duck-fat fried rice and bonchon was a perfect added bonus.

After splurging at DB Grill, we walked a couple steps to get to La Tour Cafe.

La Tour Cafe offers a bit of France in Hawai’i with their selection of Macaron and Croissants. Their flavors include Birthday Cake, double chocolate, and even Green Tea. They have a wide variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches as well.

HAWAIIAN FOOD/MUST EAT IN HONOLULU #VLOG

Ever wondered how to make Hawaiian Food? Well, this meal is extremely easy to make, and you’ll easily be able to find all of the ingredients to Kalua Pork at your local grocery store.

Hawaiian Kalua Pig is something that’s served commonly here in Hawaii. It’s not only enjoyed at tourist attractions such as luaus and hotels or resorts, it is also something enjoyed by locals at parties and other events.

I was in the military and gone from my home in Hawaii for over 20 years, and I really did miss enjoying meals like this, so I had to come up with a solution to enjoy this tasty meal. I found a solution to make this meal in the slow cooker, instead of the traditional way of burying a full pig in a Hawaiian Imu (oven). The slow cooker method mimics the flavors of a Hawaiian imu with the use of liquid smoke. We found this gem of a technique on allrecipes.com and have been using it ever since.

When it comes to our side dishes, we will of course be using sticky white rice, which is extremely common as a starch here in the islands. We’re also going to be purchasing some Hawaiian poke (raw fish) and Lomi Lomi Salmon (finely diced cooked salmon mixed in a slew of tomatoes, onions, and other ingredients) which I will get at a local supermarket. I’m also going to be grilling hawaiian sweet bread using butter and garlic salt on one side of the slice and cooking it in the pan.

This meal is so yummy, and though it’s not authentically made in the traditional way, the flavors aren’t far off and in these times of convenience and time saving, it truly is a amazing.

Aloha, this street food tour is located in the old-school country feel of Hawaii. The Kahuku Sugar Mill is a must on Oahu’s North Shore. In this small area, they have multiple food places to satisfy your tastebuds and fill your stomach.

We stop by Seven Brothers “At the Mill” in Kahuku. This place has the BEST BURGER in Hawaii! If you love burgers, make sure to try out the “Paniolo Burger.” Moreover, even within the same area is the most popular Shrimp Truck on the island (Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck). Not the one in Haleiwa North Shore with longer lines and limited seating, but the one right here at the Kahuku, featuring positive vibes, more seating, local crafts, and products. You can see for yourself!
