Kekoa’s Kitchen brings authentic Hawaiian flavors to North Texas. We utilize family recipes passed down from generations to comfort the soul and ease the mind, while focusing on creating dishes that keep guests full and wanting more.

Growing up, I was raised eating deliciously sweet Hawaiian comfort food. In our culture, a Plate Lunch is very common, this is typically seen as an assortment of items packed into a container for an easy Grab-n-Go lunch. Every time I would go home to Hawai’i, there would always be new items in our family feast that I never had before and unfortunately wouldn’t find on the Mainland, and I want to change that.

Speaking of feasts, a typical Hawaiian dinner is usually done to ensure food for the following days and to feed as many people as possible. I want to bring that culture to the Mainland, where a family feast is full of heavy plates and enough food for leftovers.

Since graduating Culinary School in 2012, I knew I always wanted to come up with a restaurant concept that brought big families together and also allowed people to create their own Plate Lunch. Most Hawaiian restaurants I’ve been to typically have set plates and charge for substitutions, but not us. We allow you to customize your own plate with our different choices of sides and entrees.

Hope everyone has been well and drinking plenty of water because it’s peak summer time!

This summer honestly has not been too bad compared to others. We still get some painful triple digit weather, but we’ve also had a lot of lovely overcast/rainy days and near-perfect summer nights.

This town is changing faster than I can keep up with, but I’ve honestly always loved that about living here.

I know I keep taking YouTube hiatuses, but I’m realizing making these little vlogs really serves as a creative outlet for me – especially when my work as a consultant can get very analytical and data heavy.

I would love to start uploading more day-in-the-life type videos to continue spotlighting the more local side of Las Vegas, but if there’s anything anyone would like to see more of in the future let me know!
